Character Modeling by Jeremy Stoelting
Uv Mapping and Character Design by Nicole Barber
As the group worked on the production elements that proceeded animation, we had Jacob, HiuChun, Jeremy, Deanna, and Eric looking into reference footage and images. The idea was to grab anything and everything that would help us with animating. We looked into facial expressions, quadruped movement, ideas for textures, anything that would help us in the further parts of the project.
When the design for the character was fully fleshed out, we had Jeremy get started on modeling the character. He worked with Nicole to finalize the design, and then used that design to get started on modeling. Jeremy followed what the rest of the team had agreed upon, and presented his work to the group with regular updates.
The initial storyboard was done by Alishia. We based the rest of the project off of this initial design. We wanted to further elaborate on the story so Alishia, Taylor, and Jacob worked on elaborating and detailing the story to a greater extent. They planned out the story and looked at how certain shots may work. The end result was planned so to help the rest of the team understand the story better.
The design of the character was assigned to Andrew, Nicole, and Deanna. They worked on concepts for the character’s design and coloring as we began work on the project. As we wrapped up on concept art and preproduction, they presented the work they had done. The group looked over the presented concepts and decided to use Nicole’s style for the character with some added elements of Andrew’s and Deanna’s. For the color scheme, we decided on the colors that Nicole had presented with the pattern of color that Andrew presented.
The design of the background was assigned to Alishia, Eric, and HiuChun. They worked on concepts for the background’s design as we began work on the project. As we wrapped up on concept art and preproduction, they presented the work they had done. The group looked over the presented concepts and chose Eric to finalize his designs for the animation.
